Illustrated People x The Braid Bar
Last Thursday we held a private printing event to launch our latest collaboration. Teaming up with our friends at The Braid Bar, we have created a new printed ‘The Braidy Bunch’ Ailsa in honour of the Selfridges pop-up.
Established just last year, The Braid Bar has fast garnered attention with a menu featuring 25 styles named either after supermodels (check out Cara, Christy, Tyra) or their very own #BraidBaes. These girls include Iris Law, Tallia Storm and Anais Gallagher as well as Maddi Waterhouse and Coco Musgrave who attended our event.
The launch party was held at our Brick Lane which we decked out with plenty of faux fur and baby pink paint. As well as having the opportunity to get their hair braided in any style from the tied back Naomi 0.2 to the subtle Eva, our guests printed their own ‘The Braidy Bunch’ t-shirts and sampled a number of canapés courtesy of The Conscientious Cook. A catering brand run by Nicky Elliot which is based on the idea that our bodies cannot process refined sugar, The Conscientious Cook brought us some amazing brownies made out of sweet potato and maple, smoked salmon wrapped quails eggs and coconut tofu with an amazing almond miso dipping sauce.
Guests at the party included Erika Bowes, Yuki Haze, Kandie Joseph, Maddi Waterhouse, Mercy Butler Coco Musgrave, Sophie Hanna Richardson, Stefani Nurding, Mika Francis and Betsy Johnson. As well as fresh braided do’s and freshly printed t-shirts, the girls received a goodie bag including Jackpot peanut butter, Fudge Urban hair products, The Braid Bar hair toggles and Salted Apricot truffles from The Conscientious Cook.
